Christmas social run and charity fundraiser
Join us for a social run on a 50k loop around Exeter on Sunday 20th December 2026, devised especially for Ruby Red Running by local runner, Andrew Iley. The run is free of charge although we will be collecting donations for a charity close to our hearts: the MND charity My Name'5 Doddie Foundation
What to expect:
- A special 50k route hand crafted by local runner Andrew Iley, encompassing some of the best bits of the of his favourite routes in and around Exeter.
- Free to enter. Donations to MND Charity My Name'5 Doddie Foundation - via this Just Giving Link.
- Start at sunrise (approx 8am) and finish (that's the plan!) at sunset (approx 4pm) at the iconic Ridgetop Park
- This is not a race, but a social run. We will have muster points along the route to allow faster runners to go ahead and slower runners to catch up to the group. (The boring bit: This is part of the conditions of our insurance for the day - if faster runners chose not to wait at muster points they will be running as an individual and not covered by our insurance)
- There will be no 'aid stations' so bring supplies! That said, we are planning our muster points to encompass a pub or two and might have a 'pop up' surprise or two for you!
- Limit of 30 runners - so don't hesitate to sign up.

We are not charging for this social run - a collection will be made for the MND charity, My Name'5 Doddie campaign... here's a bit more about what we're raising money for:
In February 2027, Alasdair, Tim and Craig will be joining the Doddie's Oui Doddle 2027 edition of Rob Wainwright and Mark Beaumont's fundraising event in aid of My Name'5 Doddie Foundation. They will be cycling from Edinburgh and journey to Paris via Twickenham Stadium, carrying two match balls on an unforgettable ride. The challenge will culminate in Paris ahead of Scotland’s Six Nations clash with France, raising awareness and funds in honour of Doddie Weir’s legacy.
Tim in particular has a very personal link to MND, having lost his father to the disease in 2024. You can donate via the Just Giving page here
How much should I donate? That's always a very personal question, but have a think about how much you'd pay to enter a 50 ultramarathon... and this one is free!
Remember to also sign up using the link below as this run is limited to 30 people.
PS - Christmas fancy dress is not compulsory!
