Welcome to Ruby Red Running

‘Serious about running without taking running seriously’

The team at Ruby Red Running are passionate about giving you the best race experience possible.

We believe that it’s the little things that matter and we want to prove that it is possible to put on amazing, challenging and friendly events without charging the earth, and whilst also giving back to the community.

Whether you are a trail newbie looking for an entry level event, or a weathered trail vet looking for challenging 100km+ events we have you covered, always giving that little bit extra to make your experience the best it can be.

Our new charity for 2026 is Axminster and Lyme Cancer Support who provide creative activities, holistic therapies, relevant diet and lifestyle information and exercise classes all for anyone affected by any cancer. They offer mutual support, helping people cope with the fear, anxiety, isolation, or stress that cancer can bring by providing a chance to unwind over a cup of tea. They also own a beach hut in Lyme Regis to allow a restorative day by the sea - if you're running our East Devon Round, you'll run right past it!

For 2026 we are proud to continue supporting the Rich Wigram New Zealand Scholarship - helping local young farmers experience farming in New Zealand. Other local charities include Arc Axminster - providing a vital counselling service to Axminster residents.

In 2025 we were able to donate £500 to Arc Axminster, helping them continue the important work they undertake in our local community.

In 2025 we also donated:

Previous donations have included:

One of our 2024 donations was to All Saints CofE Primary School. We donated 20 new athletics vests in time for the 2024/25 cross country season. Phillip Lee, Head Teacher at All Saints said,“The new athletics vests enable our pupils to take pride in representing the school. By really feeling part of their school community, I hope the children will be inspired to participate in more cross country and athletics events.”

What's in a name?

Why are we called Ruby Red Running? Well...we stayed true to our heart and let the environment decide, yes Ruby Red is a type of cattle, yes it was the first animal we saw out running that morning...life doesn’t have to be complicated.

Like the cattle we are natives of the West Country, and are both versatile and flexible in what we can offer, we have strong links with the rural community giving us access to some otherwise private routes.
